The Many Skin Benefits of Turmeric:

Turmeric it great for the skin because it has both antibacterial and antiseptic properties, meaning it can efficiently attack and kill acne-causing bacteria when applied topically. It also contains more than two-dozen anti-inflammatory compounds, so it can greatly reduce the redness and inflammation that linger after a bad breakout. Turmeric is very high in antioxidants - containing over 300 of them - which protect skin cells from oxidative damage, prevent aging, stimulate new cell growth, and improve the skin's elasticity. Turmeric can even help to even the skin tone, lighten dark spots, and control problematic, breakout-causing excess oil by reducing the sebum production of the sebaceous glands.

Although they vary from one another in their other ingredients, each of these masks contains Moringa Source Turmeric Powder, and each offers a multitude of benefits to the skin.

1.) Turmeric-Honey-Cinnamon

Ingredients:

Directions:

  • Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, and apply to the face. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes, and then wash off with warm water.

Benefits of this mask:

  • Honey: Honey is a natural humectant, meaning that when applied to the skin, it has the ability to take moisture from the air and apply it into the skin. This makes it a great moisturizer! It is also anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, so it can reduce the swelling and redness caused by breakouts, help to fade scars, increase tissue regeneration, and efficiently kill acne-causing bacteria. Additionally, it is full of beneficial enzymes and anti-aging antioxidants.
  • Cinnamon: Cinnamon has antioxidant, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties. It makes a great exfoliate as it removes dead skin cells and softens the skin. It diminishes fine lines and wrinkles because of its "plumping" effects, and has the ability to stimulate blood vessels and draw blood and nutrients to the surface of the skin. The main natural chemical component of Cinnamon is cinnamaldehyde, which has been found to increase collagen levels; thus improving elasticity and decreasing premature aging.

The zinc in yogurt also helps to regulate the skin's oil production, and acts as a mild astringent which helps to tighten skin tissues, reducing signs of aging. Additionally, it contains riboflavin, which is responsible for cell growth and regeneration, protecting skin cells from oxidation, and keeping skin cells hydrated. Yogurt also acts as a great moisturizer for the skin, and has anti-aging properties that can help to minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
